The restaurant 8 Legs can host up to 50 people for dinners and up to 150 for cocktail parties.
World-renowned chefs and sommeliers will teach wine degustation and cookery courses in the Manor kitchen. Twelve people can cook in the Manor kitchen at the same time. Bigger groups can be divided into two groups, which can take part in alternating cooking courses and side-programs. Side-programs include wine and spirits tasting and mixology classes.

The 8 Legs restaurant occupies the most prominent room of the Manor and derives its name from its crowning feature, a tentacle-shaped chandelier. At the 8 Legs restaurant, you savor the delicacies of another world. Enjoy the wonders created by our Chef, complemented with the fine selection of wines found in Kau Manor’s Wine Cellar.
Restaurant kitchen offers a seasonal menu inspired by local ingredients. An intimate dining experience, 8 Legs accommodates a maximum 50 guests who can take advantage of its spacious summer terrace with a beautiful view of the surrounding grounds in irresistible weather.

Ellery Powell joined Kau Manor after relocating to Estonia from the UK. Ellery is an internationally-experienced culinary innovator who has over 15 years of international experience managing kitchens in award winning restaurants and luxury hotels.
He was exposed to food at a very young age and discovered the art of cooking through his family with whom he cooked and gardened with in the English countryside. His childhood was spent helping his parents expand their organic garden and whole-food business, that naturally lead to his career in the kitchen.
Ellery has since firmly established himself in all organic and culinary movements. Ellery takes his inspiration from nature and his travels around the world creating clean dishes with an emphasis on strong flavours and organic presentation.

In Kau Manor’s vaulted cellar, which is in the oldest part of the Manor, hides the restaurant 8 Legs’ Wine Cellar. When this historical vaulted space, that estimably dates back to the 13th century, was used in creating the Wine Cellar, wine racks were made out of the old wood found from the Manor.
The Wine Cellar boasts an exclusive wine selection. The wine list is the perfect complement to restaurant’s menu and is similarly to restaurant’s seasonal menu always changing.
A cavernous gothic lounge next to the Wine Cellar is an ideal space for intimate gatherings and private functions for groups up to 20 guests. Our catering and event staff can assist in coordinating conferences, seminars, meetings, or just special dinners among friends. In the Cellar, guests can also enjoy tasting events among charcuterie prepared by our Chef.

With a stellar selection of tobaccos and cigars, the indoor smoking room offers a comfortable place to relax and unwind with soothing jazz and smooth drinks.
An intimate setting for quiet conversation, with both bar and table service, here the cigars are the undisputed stars, each hand rolled, among them Cohibas, Montecristos, Partagas, Trinidads, Bolivars, Hoyo de Monterreys, and Santa Damianas.
The Cigar Room’s rare and fine collection also offers the finest Armagnacs, Cognacs, Whiskeys, and Tequilas. Here, would-be connoisseurs can take part in spirits master classes and special tastings.
Baroness Room is a small pellucid dining room with intimate atmosphere. This inspiring room has restored wall paintings and working bread baking oven.
Jaan’s is a large brasserie that opened in 2016. The place was named after Estonia’s most famous writer Jaan Kross and can seat up to 200 people depending on the set-up. The vibrant flexible space is equipped with photos of Jaan Kross and his life, has an open kitchen, full bar and performance area. Ideal for hosting gala dinners, weddings and corporate functions the room reflects the excitement and casual, friendly-focused spot that recreates the lively feel of turn-of-the-century European cafes. Jaan’s is located at the entrance of the Manor grounds and functions in its own building close to the first pond. In the summer it blooms into a beautiful leafy corner with an outside patio space and beautiful views. The restaurant has comfortable seats, white marble ornate tables and 14 large white globes throwing beautiful light to its large wooden beams with 4m ceilings. Sounds of blues, jazz and old rag time fill the air with sometimes sounds of Jaan Kross and other famed writers voices on music tracks.
The well stocked enormous bar can service any party or function. When walking by you can find men in good suits or sneakers, blacksmiths, farmers, drinking old fashion cocktails and eating smoked fish or deliciously prepared grilled dishes. This space is truly ideal for a wedding, party or any corporate event.
